Green Asparagus Day - 1st May 2012

This year Green Asparagus Day falls on 1st May (2012). Here we will bring you all the news about what is planned, ideas to get you started and a space for you to tell us what you want everyone else to know....

Competitions

Asparabuddies are running a competition to celebrate, all you have to do to win 50 asparagus crowns ( thier favourite variety, they should know some good ones!) is to 'LIKE' their Facebook page and tell them why you like green asparagus so much. Competition closes 31st March 2012 and crowns will be delivered early April!!! Go on be the first to enter.....

We are asking for your favourite photo's of green asparagus to get us in the mood for Green Asparagus Day. We'll put the most inspiring up here for all to see. (see greenasparagusday hashtags on twitter to keep up with the news).

Ideas

Hold an Asparagus themed party or meal and donate the proceeds to charity.

Hold a Childrens Asparagus themed drawing or cartoon competition...we'll publish the winners here...

Hold an Asparagus "cook in" with prizes for the best recipes..we'll publish them here...
